Upcoming Shows - Milkshed Gallery Opening Soon!
Fall Firing  -  Update On The New Kiln

It's been several months since our last update . . . but we've been a bit busy!  Our
summer involved seemingly endless building projects, keeping up with shows and
other jobs, making pottery while maintaining two studios in two states . . . oh,
and getting married! (We snuck a photo in down below.)  We're so glad to be in
high gear here at the VT homestead this fall, working long hours in the field
amidst the beautiful foliage to ready our gallery and kiln site before the snow flies.
Thanks for checking out our newsletter!

Upcoming Shows and Exhibitions

We'll be showing in several places this fall, including an artisans fair at the
Norwich (VT) Farmers' Market grounds on Sunday, October 11th,
from 10am to 3pm. We also have several upcoming gallery exhibitions, including
a special celebration of the 50th birthday of the Hanover League of NH
Craftsmen CraftStudies program.  That opens on Saturday, October 17th, from 5
to 7 at the gallery on Lebanon Street in Hanover. Nathan and I will also have
mugs and cups in the Consider the Cup Invitational at the Artisans Gallery in
Northampton, Massachusetts, open November 13th- December 31st.  And we're
hoping to be part of a local "bazaar" in Randolph, VT, for the holiday season!

Our Milkshed Gallery Open Soon

We have made incredible progress on our gallery in the last few weeks, and hope
to be open by Thanksgiving, if not before!  (You'll get a big announcement when
we set a date!)  We put the windows that we refurbished back in this week (see
photos at left with a view to the surrounding fields!), and I have been finishing
trim, painting, and generally getting very excited.  We insulated the new ceiling,
and we're also shining up an antique wood stove to help keep you cozy during
your visit!  After the grand opening, I hope to keep regular hours straight
through the holiday season.  Once again, and hopefully for the last time, I'll say:
"Stay Tuned!"
*UPDATE! We're Now Open!  more info

We're Planning a Fall Firing

I am currently in pottery production for a firing that I hope to complete in late
October at the
Eaton, NH kiln. (Yes a bit more of the crazy travel with unfired
pottery!)  Among the new pots are the popular serving "baskets," lots of new
mugs, french butter keepers, and pie plates.  I'm also taking last minute special
orders for those of you interested in something more "custom" . . . please be in
touch by October 12th if this is of interest to you!

Update On The New Kiln

A lot of rain and a very busy schedule made for some sluggish groundwork, but
the excavator finished up in mid- September, and we are just about to set posts for
the new kiln shed.  At this stage, we're hoping the large roof will be over our
heads by snowfall.  Then we can begin amassing the necessary kiln- building
materials . . . we'll likely be constructing it well into next year.  Ahh, the balancing
of expectations with the reality of life!  I keep reminding myself that this most
anticipatory desire for a new kiln will someday look like a small blip of the radar
of life. :)  Once our gallery is officially open, we'd love to have you stop by to see
our progress- and perhaps move a few bricks!

Big Thanks!
